Interactive Non-Fiction
Use some of our powerful interactive reading software to take your kids on mental journeys through some of the world's greatest works of non-fiction.  Each guide/test is designed to make your students think about what they are reading.  They become investigative readers and notice concepts and ideas they might ordinarily overlook in a casual reading assignment.  Great for cooperative learning or special projects.  Each program is easily installed on a Windows 98 or up machine.  Students get immediate feedback on screen, which makes this not just a test but a learning experience as well.  Printed report is issued for the teacher and student.  Research is done in textbook or on screen text (check each entry for differences).

One of our goals at Baggetta_Ware is to make student more aware of what they are reading.  These programs are useful because they subtly force students to concentrate on what they are reading by presenting a challenge, and they also serve as good practice for research.  These are not trivia game questions.  Students will be given a question and then they must look up the answer -- drawing upon the knowledge and skills they have acquired for logically looking up information.

Interactive On Self-Reliance
Modern students sometimes have difficulty understanding the ideas of past writers, but this work by Ralph Waldo Emerson strongly presents his views on the importance of the individual.  We have done an abridged analysis of questions for this work, making it more palatable for the secondary student to digest.
There are 20 questions as part of the guide that students must precisely answer as they read through the abridged work.  Most students can complete this in one class period.  You can use a copy of the essay which is available in many collections or at your local library or read the work (recommended) right on screen.  Our version has each paragraph numbered for quick reference.  You can even print out a copy of the abridgement using Microsoft Word or any other word processor.  The program checks each answer and gives a grade at the end.  The questions appear in sequential order making this an excellent focus study guide or test. 

Interactive Declaration of Independence 
This is a study guide/test of one of our countries most important documents -- and probably one of the most misunderstood documents amongst young students. This program uses 40 questions to guide students and help them understand the wording of this American document.  The document is available on screen or you can use a printed copy you have available.  Open and Save features are available for extended use in the class.  Teachers can print out a report card at the end for teacher and student, and all the questions and answers can be printed by the teacher for lesson preparation.

This is a study guide/test of one of America's most popular documents.  It is often introduced to students, but they seldom come away with a thorough reading or understanding of it. Interactive Gettysburg Address addresses this problem and makes a study of the speech interesting and lasting.
